Espanyol v Barça
The Spanish new-year footballing calendar opens with the Catalan derby - Barca v Espanyol at the Estadio Olímpico de Montjuic on January 8th. The stadium was used for the 1992 Olympics and is now home to Barcelona’s other Primera Liga team, Espanyol. It will be interesting to see if Barca return from the Christmas break in the same sensational form they ended 2005. Note that Spanish football fixtures are sometimes changed due to television schedules or cup competitions so check with the club before making travel arrangements.
