If you are around Barcelona from June 20 to August 2, you should check out the Grec 09 programme and see if there is anything that might interest you. The Grec is a cultural festival that transforms Barcelona every summer into one great stage where theatre, music, dance and circus shows are presented. This year there are more than 60 shows, the productions selected for the Grec’09 programme include both pieces certain to awaken the curiosity of the most demanding spectator and others aimed at drawing in new audiences.
This year the main focus is on Italy, with 19 productions from that country. The 26 venues for the Grec Festival will feature works ranging from the most classical drama to the most radical theatre; from new works by up-and-coming Catalan playwrights to outstanding productions on the international scene; from shows for family audiences to the most innovative developments in digital art; in short, a whole world of choice.
