Catalonian Motocycling GP
The Catalonian Moto GP takes place from 16-18 June and always proves one of the most popular rounds of the World Championship. The race, at the Circuit de Catalunya close to Barcelona, attracts holidaymakers and race fans with around 100,000 packed into the venue. Bikes reach speeds of up to 185 mph and the races are usually an exciting tussle with lots of overtaking. The 500cc Championship is the motorcycling equivalent of Forumla 1 car racing although increasingly shares the spotlight with the Superbike Championship.
