This festival is one of the loudest and most colourful in the Canary Islands as Tenerife’s answer to the Rio Carnival. The event coincides with Lent and ends with the Domingo de Piñata on Sunday. It features carnival parades and costume competitions all set to the beat of Latin melodies. The festival usually starts on 30 January and ends 13 February.
