Beware of Costa Fraudsters
If you are thinking of buying property in Spain, renting an apartment is a great way of getting a feel for an area but when searching for your dream home, beware of fraudsters who claim to be estate agents. 17 people from the UK were recently arrested for defrauding house buyers out of hundreds of thousands of Euros on the Costa del Sol. Buyers were told if they paid €1200 upfront, they could avoid paying tax and lawyers fees related to any potential purchase. The company would then disappear and re-open again under a different name.
