Grenada Festival of Music & Dance
The International Festival of Music and Dance is held in the amazing grounds of the Alhambra Palace in Grenada from 23 June to 9 July this year. The streets come alive with the sound of guitars, castanets and the buzz of flamenco dancing as Grenada launches its biggest festival of the year.
In 2005, the programme featured more than 70 shows, including performances by the Ballet Nacional de España, London Symphony Orchestra, Orquesta Nacional de España, Orchestre de Paris and the Royal Philharmonia Orchestra. As well as the larger shows in the Alhambra, there will be performances in civic centres, chapels, churches, cafés and clubs throughout the city ranging from small classical shows to jazz and world music.
