New Picasso Exhibition
The Picasso Museum in Malaga has announced an exciting new exhibition - The Antibes Picassos - for the first time in Spain, featuring almost all of the great man’s work from the Picasso Museum in Antibes, France. It is the first time that many of his works have been exhibited outside of this museum and among the pieces on display are the murals, The Joy of Living and Antipolis (1946), The Hedgehog Eater (1946) and the impressive sculpture, Head of a woman (1932). There will be a total of 73 artworks on display, including canvasses, fibre-cement panels, drawings, sculptures and ceramics, which reveal a wonderful period in Picasso’s artistic production. There will also be a parallel exhibition of photographs by the Polish artist Michel Sima. These pictures also belong to the French Picasso Museum collection, and were taken of the Malaga-born artist while he was working in the French town, and demonstrate the context in which these other works were created. The exhibition will last until 11th June. For more info, check the Picasso Museum website: http://www.museopicassomalaga.org
