The Festival de Cante Grande (Flamenco Song Festival) gets under way on 14 August to bring down the curtain on the week-long annual fiesta of the Andalusian town of Puente Genil. The festival started in 1967 and quite often features reknowned musician Fosforito plus various others from the patio of the Manuel Reina workers’ institute. Today it is an essential part of the town’s annual festivities extending beyond the workers’ institute to include concerts at Santa Susana and other locations around the town.
