Christmas Eve in Andalucia
For a Christmas Eve (Nochebuena) with a difference, go to the Andalusian town of Luque to celebrate where the streets come alive with the sound of zambombas. The special drums are accompanied by one person in every group chanting whilst the others follow by repeating. The drums are also fitted with mouth organ-like pieces which makes them truly unusual instruments. The unique beat is accompanied by guitars, accordions, castanets, tambourines and even cane flutes making it one of the liveliest Nochebuena’s you’ll ever have.
