Escape to Mudejar

As the winter chill sets in across much of Spain, many dream of Andalucia and there’s nowhere that typifies the region more than Alozaina in the Guadalhorce Valley. Protected from cold winds by the sierras of Tolox and Prieta, it was known as “Alhosaina” - small fort or good and healthy place - in reference to both its mild climate and the Arabic castle which looks-out to sea. The town-centre has some of the most well preserved traditional architecture in Andalusia and with its white-washed houses, can be considered one of the prettiest in Spain.
