Seville - Virgin’s Pilgrimage

The town of Dos Hermanas near Seville pays homage to its patron saint, La Virgen de Valme, in October. The saint is said to have inspired King Fernando III in his reconquest of Seville. An effigy of the saint will be placed on an float decorated with multi-coloured paper flowers, along with other decorated carts flaked by a large procession of tourists and pilgrims. A party breaks out after the pilgrimage and the celebration is one of the most spectacular in Andalucia.
