Castile and León offer the chance to combine golf with some invigorating cultural routes and some stunning countryside, perfect for outdoor activities that go from hiking to all kinds of adventure sports. Not all of Spain’s best golf courses are to be found on the coast. You can also play golf in inland Spain, in towns and cities close to the mountains, as is the case with the Castile and León Region. In just a few kilometres you will find clubs with different courses that adapt to a range of different playing levels: from simple, gentle courses to those where short holes alternate with long ones, perfect for playing as a family and more complicated itineraries for experienced players. Between games, make the most of the chance to discover cities such as Salamanca, Segovia and Ávila. They all have benn awarded the UNESCO World Heritage designation for their historic centres. Just a few minutes from the green, in the Burgos area, you can also discover the origins of man, visiting Atapuerca, one of Europe’s most important palaeontological sites. There are even more options available in Valladolid, the capital of the Castile and León Region, and there are several golf courses situated close to the city. Other provinces such as León, Palencia and Soria, also have excellent golfing facilities.
