Prado Tour

Fancy a private tour of Madrid’s Prado museum? Spanish Fiesta’s are offering exactly that with a tour of one of Spain’s most famous contributions to world culture. Represented in the Prado are three of its greatest masters - Goya, Velazquez, and El Greco, but you’ll also find the great works of the Belgian Rubens and Titian. The Prado first opened in 1819 to display the Spanish royal art collection. The anticlerical laws of 1836 meant that many churches, monasteries, and convents were forced to hand over their collections and now the museum holds some seven thousand pieces of art. After visiting the Prado, the tour makes its way to the Palacio de Oriente, more commonly known as the “Palacio Real” and was constructed on the site of a Moorish fortress, destroyed by a fire in 1734.
