Survey ranks Spain top country for nightlife
Spain is the number one country in the world for nightlife according to FutureBrand, a premier global brand consultancy, which has issued its 2007 Country Brand Index. “Spain’s nightlife is a way of life, with locals and visitors flocking to explore countless after hours options”, says the report. The ranking encompasses both qualities that drive consideration and country assets that shape country reputations, perceptions and experiences. Spain gets the 10th position in Art and Culture.
The news comes after Typically Spanish reported that 52.7 million people took Spanish holidays in October. We are the second most visited country in the world, a niche destination for the discerning traveller,” commented Enrique Ruiz de Lera, director of the Singapore-based National Tourist Office of Spain for Southeast Asia.
Many different Spanish cities were praised for their nightlife, including Valencia, Madrid and Barcelona, as well as the island of Ibiza. The study also found that Spain was seen as one of the best marketed holiday destinations overseas, which could help account for its continued popularity in countries such as the UK.
