World’s 2nd Most Popular Destination
Spain has been declared the second most popular destination in the world according to a report in the Manila Bulletin. The report claims some incredible statistics including, “Spain had a total of 55.6 million visitors in 2005 and only has a total population of 42 million.” Enrique Ruiz de Lera, director of the National Tourism Office of Spain said, “Spain remained the second most popular world destination last year because it accounts for 11 percent of its gross domestic project and employs 12 percent of the working population.”
